Decorative Candles – brighten a boring light

As the owner of a flea market stall you will always be on the look out for interesting new items to add to your variety of products. Candles are always a popular item, as long as they are distinctive enough. Many retailers sell decorative candles at ridiculously low prices, but these are mass produced items that can be purchased anywhere. Your candles will be distinctive, and each of them will be unique. When making your candles, use wax colouring, available from any good craft shop, instead of using old wax crayons. Don’t forget to buff (polish) your candles before making them available for sale, as the buff induced gloss gives the candle an appearance of depth. Candle design can range from large and chunky, with ice cubes shaped holes; or leaves stuck to … Read entire article »

Pots and Pans modern Tinker

“tinker – formerly a person (traditionally a Gypsy) who travelled from place to place mending pots and kettles and other metal utensils as a way to earn a living.” The description above is the definition that closest fits this article. Modern tinkers have no need to travel, as they can operate their business from home, selling the fruits of their labour through several sources, including local flea markets. Old unused pots, pans and kettles can be obtained from many places. Garage clean outs, estate sales, and auctions, are just a few of the places one can source a supply of old pots and pans. Many of the pots will be aluminium, and many of the pans will have had Teflon coating that has been damaged. These items will benefit from a general cleaning, … Read entire article »
